An applicant for membership is asked to contribute US$200.00 towards the cost of the initial practice review programme (PRP), which must be undertaken before admission. This will be credited towards the entrance fee of US$1,500.00, if the firm is then accepted for MGI membership.

The annual membership fee is set by the International Committee each year. The association is non-profit making, so the fee is set at the minimum necessary to cover its annual budget. It is currently 0.17% of each member firm's total revenue, subject to a minimum of US$2,000.00 and a maximum of US$13,000.00 per firm. There is also a US$2,000 North American regional  fee.
